Well, I don't want to talk about football at all. Or maybe just a little. I'm actually not a declared opponent of the World Cup in Qatar. Bike and Formula 1 races take place in the area. Camel races are more important for the locals. I think so. At these events one usually does not pull out the ideological or moral stick. Then why do you have to score your own goals in football? I don't think there was much public support here in this country anyway. And everyone will be happy when the German moralizers are back home. However, the bandage “Germans go home” would certainly also be banned by FIFA.
It's different with curling, of course. A lot of people don't even know that you're curling for the European Championship. One would think that if the Europeans curled among themselves, then the German athletes would somehow succeed in getting past the preliminary round. But it doesn't. The other European teams are just too strong. Before the last preliminary round match, the men shared third place with Italy and Turkey. After the bankruptcy against the Czechs, you lost everything. Scotland and Italy secured third and fourth place respectively.
The women initially looked a little better. But here, too, the last group game decided to the detriment of the German women. They dropped to 7th place after the 3 to 12 against Denmark.
And the same rule applies here as for German footballers. Dahoam (At home) is the nicest.
